When you choose sleep dentistry, here’s what will actually happen:
- One of our team members will escort you to a treatment room and make sure you’re comfortable. We’ll answer your questions and ease your fears.
- Then, the Sleep Dentistry Services team will place an IV and administer medication that will put you to sleep. Your loved one is welcome to stay with you while you go to sleep.
- While you’re asleep, we’ll perform any necessary dental treatments while the Sleep Dentistry Services team closely monitors your blood pressure and heart rate. Because you’re completely asleep, you won’t feel anything, and you won’t remember your visit.
- Once we’re finished, you’ll have plenty of time to wake up and recover before leaving our clinic. The anaesthesia’s effects generally wear off quickly, and most patients feel normal about an hour after waking up.
- As an added precaution, you will need someone to drive you home and stay with you for the remainder of the day.
