Dr Amir Kiaee
Principal Dentist
Originally from Iran, Dr Amir attended both High School and University in Australia. He completed High School in Melbourne and attended the University of Adelaide for his Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
Dr Amir values continuing education to deliver the finest and most up-to-date dentistry to his patients.

Since becoming a dentist, Dr Kiaee has provided quality dentistry in many locations, both in Australia and internationally with Royal Australian Flying Doctors and Doctors Without Borders. He has also worked in developing countries such as Vietnam, providing dentistry to less privileged and underserved patients, as well as traveling to his home country of Iran to provide high-quality dentistry.
“I love the difference I make for people, changing the perception of the dental visit and proving to people that it doesn't have to be painful. Dentistry has come a very long way from what it used to be and can be done efficiently and pain-free these days. I feel gratification when I see the look on someone’s face when their smile has changed for good.”
In addition to his passion for the art and science of dentistry, you can find Dr Amir enjoying photography, flying drones, playing guitar, bushwalking, fishing, and keeping fit with CrossFit and weight lifting.
Dr Valerie Baluyut
Dr Valerie is originally from the Philippines, graduating Doctor of Dental Medicine in Centro Escolar University, Manila, Philippines. With over a decade of overseas and local dental experience, she managed to convert her original overseas qualification with Australian Dental Council with flying colours. She has also earned her Graduate Diploma in Management at Federation University Australia.
Dr Valerie is an active member of Australian Dental Association both National and Victorian branches. She actively seeks to continue her education to further her dental skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with the latest advances in the field of dentistry.
Dr Valerie also strongly believes in “prevention being far better than cure”. Her proactive approach aims to potentially prevent a dental issue before it may start to arise and cause further, complicated problems down the track.
Fondly referred to as Dr Val by patients, she takes great pride in the quality of work as she performs general dentistry procedures, especially enjoying her work with children. With her compassionate and gentle nature, anxious patients of all ages have enthusiastically praised her for patiently and comprehensively providing oral education to them at every visit.
Dr Val believes that dental education plays a major role in our overall health.

In addition to her fondness of dentistry, the mum of two combines her creative side with her caring nature by baking, cooking, and making DIY hampers for her loved ones.
Shae Andrewartha
Oral Health Therapist
Shae has been our oral health therapist at Lumino Smiles Dental since 2023. She graduated from the University of Melbourne and has been working in the dental field since 2021. Fueled by her passion for helping people and working with her hands, she pursued a career in oral health therapy.
Shae loves helping patients conquer their dental fears. She finds it most rewarding when she sees patients' anxieties melt away as they gain newfound confidence with their smiles. Shae takes pride in assisting patients in improving their quality of life through gentle and personalised dental care.
During her free time, she enjoys experimenting with different art materials and jetskiing on Lake Eildon.
A lesser-known fact about Shae is that her favourite movie is 'The Master of Disguise', which she says is 'the best worst movie, with a 1% on Rotten Tomatoes'.
